Robin is an artist who has a unique stamp: he works on gold and silver leaf. The style of completely covering the canvas with gold or silver, and in some cases both, is unusual to say the least. Also, being particular to an art movement called Assemblage. Very similar to collage, but instead of 2 dimensional, it also includes 3 dimensional objects

Making old
The silver leaf has now been made to look old, now the fun bit starts with the underpainting.
