Saterday´s drawing

Yesterday being Saturday, was the day to work in the garden, so like all good husbands I spent the day clearing up the remains of two large trees the storm had blown over. After spending the day with a chainsaw and other garden tools, when it came to night fall, not only did i not feel like doing a drawing, but it was difficult to operate a drawing pencil. My hands were just shaking too much - hence the drawing done only now. Will later today do the drawing for today as well.

I did one of these drawings yesterday but did not get a chance to upload them to the net, hence the posting of 2 images today. The nude is a copy of Matisse´s work, and the portrait of a man with his chin resting on his hands, was done by Henry Fuseli

In the sun

This young man was lying in the sun with a towel over his head. One of my favourite pieces.

I have done this drawing before, but decided that I wanted to have another go at it. Never satisfied, hey?

Another day another drawing

Today was the day that I did not feel like drawing at all, and I think it shows in this drawing. Unfortunately my heart was not into it this morning, and so the result was not that great. However, I also feel that we can not sit around waiting for the inspiration or the willingness to put pencil to paper. If one wants results one has to be able to draw even when does not feel the need. Just like a professional musician can not decide that he will not play today because he does not feel like it. It is the artists responsibility, to practice his craft on a daily basis.

Section from a Painting

This is a small section from one of the painting of Leonardo de Vinci. Natuarly the painting has colour, and because this is a pencil drawing, it does not. I also paid almost no attention to the animal, all my efforts were directed to drawing the woman. This was supposed to been put up yesterday, but because I could not get though to the blog (maybe the server was down, who knows?), it was put up this morning. Hope you all have a good day.
