Gustave klimt

This is a copy of a drawing done by Gustave Klimt, of his sister. Gustave is one of my favorite artists as he was very fond of using gold leaf. Unlike my art he did not cover the whole canvas with gold leaf, but used it in strategic places to very good effect. If you have a change Google the famous painting of his called "The Kiss".

More and More dificult

I'm finding it more and more difficult to find image to draw. I thought I had enough drawings done by the great masters to last me a year, but when I have a look at their sketches, I notice that a lot of them are no where completed. Those are not the type of drawings that I wanted, it has come as a little shock that the library of mine is not as extensive as I thought. Some drawing of the master will have to be found to allow me to continue.

Just a leg

No, this is not just another advert for stockings! This is a copy of one of Michelangelo's studies of the human body. The man was an absolute genius, he studied, drew all the parts of the human body in detail, so that in the painting he already knew the placing of the muscles, and what is more, he knew which muscle needed to be contracted while the opposing muscles being relaxed.

Michelangelo

This is another copy of one of the sketches of Michelangelo´s. The "pros" recon that this drawing was not finished by him, I wonder why they say that.

Unable to help myself

I can not help but copy or at least try to copy the great masters. Some times I spend more time copying them than doing my own work. They are just so great and their techniques are beyond compassion, that I feel compeled to learn from them

Yesterday´s drawing

Still running behind by one day. That is I still have to do a drawing for today.

Another attempt of Michelangelo

This copy that I have just this moment finished, is copy of one of Michelangelo's sketches. The title being "Head of a satyr". This was done with a dip pen and liquid watercolour.

Cloth drawings

This is a copy of one of Michelangelo's sketches, you can see that the feet are not completely, actually no where near completion. I think the object of the sketch was to design the fall of the fabric. To be able to draw the fabric in such a way that it hints at what lies beneath. Naturally the man was a genius at that sort of thing and that is why I had a bash at some of his sketches. One must also remember that in his day, drawing was not a complete art form in itself, it was merely a process one went though to be able to paint the final image. However, today the art of drawing has been recognized in it's own right, and I think that the honoree member would be the likes of Michelangelo.
